Title: Sports Performance Coach

Responsibilities:
•Design and implement individualized strength and conditioning programs based on position, skill level, and coaching staff expectations for Women’s Basketball student-athletes.
•Design and implement programs for Olympic sports teams.
•Instruct student-athletes on proper technique and execution of Olympic lifts, free weight exercises, flexibility, plyometric training, agility movements, speed development, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, and all other parameters of sport.
•Instruct student-athletes on proper technique and execution of Olympic lifts, free weight exercises, flexibility, plyometric training, agility movements, speed development, aerobic and anaerobic conditioning, and all other parameters of sport.
•Communicate with the head coaches on a daily basis to facilitate training needs, as well as coordinate the rehabilitation activities of student-athletes with athletic training and physical therapists.
•Oversee the yearly budget and purchasing for the department as well as weight room scheduling and maintenance.
•Immediately establish and continuously maintain a working knowledge of the NCAA and BIG EAST Conference rules and regulations and St. John’s University Policies and Procedures. Continuously operate within the guidelines, policies and procedures in your area of responsibility within the department to ensure 100% compliance with the NCAA/BIG EAST rules and regulations.
•This position reports to the Senior Associate Athletic Director for Administration
•Fulfills the University’s mission of assisting students and others.
Requirements:
•Bachelor’s Degree plus 2 years minimum applicable experience.
•CPR and CSCS or CSCCA Certification.
•This position is subject to a comprehensive background screen, with employment contingent upon satisfactory results. If access to a University vehicle is required for the position, a DMV check for driving record and valid driver’s license is also required.
