Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach Job Description:
Wright State University, a NCAA Division I institution and a member of the Horizon League, is accepting applications for the position Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach. Responsibilities include but are not limited to assessing talent & recruiting prospective student athletes, scouting, practice, game and conditioning plans, academic monitoring, player development & adherence to all regulations set by the NCAA, Horizon League, and Wright State University. Salary will commensurate with experience and qualifications.

Assist the Head Coach in recruiting, building and directing the women’s basketball program at the NCAA Division I level.
Bachelor’s Degree.
Three years of coaching at the college, junior college, high school level or AAU level.
Strong interpersonal, communication, organization and writing skills.
40% – Recruiting: Coordinate talent assessment, recruiting, database management, letter system, writing schedule, official and unofficial campus visit, phone calls, summer and fall and high school and junior college games evaluations.
20% – Player Development: Work with small group of student athletes developing their skill in ball-handling, passing, shooting and scoring,conditioning, practice/game organization.
15% – Regulations Compliance: Assist in the program’s adherence to all regulations set by the NCAA, the Horizon League and Wright State University.
15% – Student athlete academic and continuing eligibility monitoring.
10% – Scouting, community service, public relations (working with internal and external constituents).
Various hours of work are required due to practices and competition.
Extensive travel due to competitions and recruiting.
