Women’s Basketball Coach Job Description:
Assists in the planning, organizing and coaching of the ISU women’s basketball team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Assists in the classroom instruction and coaching of basketball techniques and strategy.
Evaluates individual performance. Experienced Recruiter.
Participates in the collection and analysis of tactical and statistical data of opponent teams.
Assists in designing game plans and strategies.
Counsels team members in academic, disciplinary and personal matters.
Studies, evaluates, and recommends innovations in basketball strategy and equipment.
Performs other duties as assigned. Specific Responsibilities Assists with the organization, planning and coaching of all practices and games. Assists in evaluation of individual performance. Coordinates, evaluates, recruits and identifies quality student athletes within the Missouri Valley and University policies. Assist with the organization and coordinating of team travel, accommodations and itineraries. Coordinates the scouting of opponents, including the organization of film editing. Coordinates team tape exchange. Coordinates, identifies, evaluates and recruits quality student-athletes within the University, Missouri Valley Conference and NCAA policies. Responsible for various Administrative duties as assigned by the Head Coach. Complies with all NCAA, Missouri Valley Conference and University rules and regulations. Attends Fund Raising events upon request to support the program. Assists in maintaining and monitoring information required for NCAA eligibility of each student athlete. Assists in monitoring the academic performance of student athletes to ensure graduation of the student athletes.
Rules Compliance is a central element in personnel matters for employees within the Department of Athletics and for those employees outside the Department of Athletics who are involved in NCAA rules compliance activities.
