Head Men’s Basketball Coach Job Description:
- Responsible to the Director of Athletics for the overall management and leadership of the men’s intercollegiate basketball program and appropriate supervisor for other responsibilities as assigned.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
1.Develop and maintain highly competitive intercollegiate men’s basketball program within the rules and guidelines of the institution, the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the NCAA Division III.
2.Plan, organize and manage all phases of the men’s basketball program including: practice and games, player development, and recruitment of academically qualified prospective student-athletes.
3.Supervise assistant coaches and other support staff members in an effective and productive manner.
4.Manage department budget.
5.Work cooperatively with faculty members, the director of admission and staff, alumni and development office personnel, the sports information director, all student support services, and all athletic department personnel.
6.Assist with game/event management of athletic events.
Head Men’s Basketball Coach Job Requirements:
- Master’s degree, or equivalent plus three to five years coaching experience, preferably at the college level.
