Position: Full-time faculty position & Head Men’s Basketball Coach
Rank and Salary: Commensurate with education and experience
Qualifications: This position requires a Bachelor’s degree and preferably a Master’s degree with at least 5 years of coaching experience preferably on the collegiate level. A successful candidate will demonstrate a strong work ethic and a high level of integrity and honesty. Candidates must have the ability to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends, must be attentive to detail and accurate in record keeping and possess an ability to work with a diverse constituency including students, parents, coaches, faculty, staff administrators and outside contacts. The individual filling this position must be an active Christian, fully supportive of the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 (http://www.sbc.net/bfm/bfm2000.asp) and the goals and objectives of the institution. The successful candidate must teach and coach from a Christian Worldview and set a Christian example for students.
Responsibilities: The position is full-time and carries all faculty responsibilities for teaching along with assumption of other head men’s basketball coaching duties, as well as the duties commensurate with full-time faculty status. The position carries full fringe benefits of College employment. Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following: managing all aspects of coaching men’s basketball (i.e., thorough knowledge of the sport, coaching strategies, teaching skills, techniques, and player development); program planning and organization; recruitment of prospective student-athletes; ability to serve as a spiritual mentor and lead weekly Bible study; and ensure compliance with both NAIA and Truett-McConnell rules and policies.
